NEW Layout - LOVE

So it was late and I was exhausted .... BUT, at midnight I decided it was good a time as any to sit down and work on a new layout !!

The new Dear Lizzy 'Lucky Charm' collection keeps calling my name so I pulled it out again, turned on Erin Brokovich and this is what I came up with ......

I started with a Sketch Challenge posted by

I added Bella Blvd. designer tape to the edge of the striped pp and then border punched it ..... I used a different border punch on the red stars strip and even used my heart border punch on the edge of my journaling piece !!  A rub on horse was exactly right for this layout and a few adhesive backed buttons coordinated perfectly......

The chip shapes and matching stickers made were a great
addition .....

..... and mixing Bella Blvd. Ciao Chip alphas with a 'remember rub on made for a perfect title....

I cut a journal card from one of the patterned papers and put it in my typewriter, then cut it down to size.  I put a date stamp and a piece of an arrow sticker on the left edge to finish it off !!

I know I've said it before but I am so in love with this collection and am thrilled with how it showcased this great pic of Emma a few show seasons back :)))

Don't forget to get your 'Lucky Charm' HERE but hurry as it is literally flying out the door .....

Flowers Flowers and more Flowers

Part of my CHA work for Bella Blvd. was to create several 3D flowers for
the 'garden' in the booth ....

This is a pic of a few  on the sticks mixed with the new Bella feathers .....

...... several of mine together before they got 'planted' ;))

I mixed papers from the new Freestyle Sophisticates with pieces from
the 'Love & Marriage' collection ......

...... I cut some shapes using the Cricut and border punched others to roll and adhere raised like the one above ......

Some had scalloped punched circles layered with them too .....

...... others had patterns that I embossed and sanded to show the pattern ......

....... i ran several pieces thru my crimper and then layered them together (love this one :))

I used LOTS of 3D foam to add dimension and make my flowers jump out of the 'garden' ......

...... but every single one of the (40) plus flowers had a button tied with twine :)))

These were SOOOOO fun to create and I hope they inspire you to add some to your next card, layout or altered project !!!!

a couple more cards .....

We all find ourselves needing to have birthday cards on hand at a moments notice and today I've got a couple to share that I now have in my stash ready to go when I need them !!

This card was created using 'Birthday Boy' collection by Bella Blvd.  A few pieces of patterned paper, a border punch and some cardstock stickers and it was good to go !!

This girlie card was super fun .... After I adhered some cardstock and patterned paper, i added a cute cut ice cream cone and a coordinating ice cream cone circle sticker before I got to work with my designer tape.  I ribbon folded pink chevron tape along the bottom and then folded pink dot tape into the shape of the sticker to add a bit more dimension ..... Once the embellishments were complete I added my sentiment using the High Five alphas by
Bella Blvd. to finish it off !!

"Lucky Charm" Layout

As I've said before, the Dear Lizzy "Lucky Charm" collection by American Crafts was one of my very fave's from Winter CHA and I couldn't wait to get home and play with my samples .....

This is a 'strips' layout that I did using several pieces of patterned paper as well as some of the fabulous embellishments that come along with it .....

I cut several strips and then weaved them in and out of each other to create this great mat for my photo ....

I used my typewriter to add my journaling in with some fabulous chip pieces too !!

This collection is now available HERE so hurry or call the shop to get yours .....

.....a card and a WINNER

Ahhhhh ..... it's Sunday and I promised you a winner yesterday - SORRY !!  I've been running my girl and her horse up and down the island and my boy to and from hockey so my computer has been closed since Thursday night !!!

BUT .... i'm back in the game and have a WINNER from my Valentine's Day contest !!  Everyone was entered and ....... MELINDA's comment below was randomly chosen :))  CONGRATULATIONS ....

Super cute...I love fortune cookies! So great for many different holidays with so many styles of paper. Will definitely be making some of these soon.

The best Valentine's Day gift I've ever received was when I was in a huge walk-in fridge and one of my old bosses allowed this guy I really liked to sneak in and surprise me.

I was totally shocked when I turned around and saw him standing there, he had a bag of Hershey's Kisses and asked me out.

MELINDA ..... Email me at jenniferedwardson@me.com so I can get your prize pack out to you this week !!!

Here is a fun card that I created for a workshop last month ..... it is a 'pop out' style card that you can create for so many different occasions using any collection !!

The base of the card is A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") ..... the inside has (3) slits snipped into the centre (shown below) .... Once I completed the inside cuts, I cut a piece of patterned paper to 6 x 9" and adhered it to the outside so you can see the pattern show thru behind the cuts inside .....

You can embellish the 'pop outs' however you choose .... i cut out coordinating flowers to add to mine ..... super cute and super fun !!

Tomorrow I have a great layout to share using new 'Dear Lizzy' Lucky Charm that just arrived HERE ..... hurry in to get yours .....

Happy Valentine's Day ... & last day to WIN

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY from me to you .... xo

Today I wanted to share a couple of fun projects of similar style but different product ..... and by product I mean one is paper and chocolate and the other is all FOOD !!!

The first share is one that I created for Bella Blvd. featuring the adorable "Kiss Me" collection .....

I adhered my fave chocolate hearts to some candy sticks, cut a few hearts shapes from patterned paper, and added some cute cut shapes and stickers too .....

..... too cute .....

I wrapped some twine around the bottom of the vase as well as a few paper border strips and then I cut out lips and adhered them around the jar too !!

NOW for the FOOD ...... This is what I made for Alexander's classroom Valentine's Day treats !!

The idea is the same ..... I used kabob sticks and layered candies, marshmallows and strawberries up the stick .......

I think I was trying to make myself feel better about all the sugar by adding the fruit ;))

..... and for the fill in the vase I mixed mini marshmallows and cinnamon hearts !!  I wrapped some cute heart ribbon around the vase and then filled it with the treats ...... Fun right !!!!

I wish you all the most wonderful LOVE filled day today .......

LOVE and a CONTEST

I've got a bunch of fun Valentine's Day projects up on the Bella Blog today so I want to share a little tutorial with you so you can get some made in time for the
big day on Thursday !!!

If you have never made your own paper fortune cookies before, today is the day ..... super cute, super fun and EASY :))

They are perfect for ANY occassion ..... Valentine's Day of course, birthdays, Easter, Halloween, wedding favors and more and seriously too freakin' cute !!!

Start with circles cut from your fave patterned paper ..... I used 2 different sizes (3 and 4") ..... FYI: the larger your circle the easier to fold ....

Create your own 'fortunes' to put inside your cookies. I did a few love notes as well as a couple 'coupons' such as "Good for one Starbucks on me" and "Can I take you out for a milkshake ?" .....

Fold in half one direction and make a small PINCH in the paper, then open to fold the OTHER way.  Line the top of your circle with a small amount of quick dry glue as shown. Lay a fortune in the center .....

Fold in half so the glue can dry.  Notice that I did not glue too far down each side.  If you have too much glue your cookie will not fold correctly
(you'll learn this on your first one - i did ;)))

I held it together with mini clothespins so I could move onto making another one while it dried :))

Once it was dry you can put pressure in the bottom center where your ORIGINAL PINCH was .... this allows you to push the bottom up and fold the sides down gently towards you to create your cookie shape !!!

TaDa :))  I added a glue dot to the inside where the cookie meets to hold it together.  If it's a bit stubborn or your paper is quite heavy weight, add a bit of quick dry glue and wrap an elastic around it to dry for a few minutes !!!

..... and then EMBELLISH like I did using your fave Bella Blvd. :))

LOVE the new Freestyle Sophisticates ...... you'll be able to get yours HERE very soon !!!

I've got Valentine's inspiration for you all week long so come on back ......
