Happy Thanksgiving across the border.....

a HUGE Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends across the border :)) wishing you all a wonderful family filled, turkey stuffed day today......

Though you are all enjoying a Fall/Thankful themed day today, up here I am in full Christmas crafty mode.....LOTS of projects at the mid-way point that will be on blogs SOON :))

I'm on @ Bella today.....

Check out what i've got goin' on over on the Bella Blog today......

This wooden bird house needed some love and pretty paper and I knew I could give it the TLC it needed. So out of the clearance bin it came and ended up on my desk for a few days while I thought about how it was to become a whole new house, and NOT a bird house. 

I got out my favorite papers from the Thankful collection and started cutting. First, I covered the front, sides and roof. I sanded the edges of all my papers first and adhered using a strong quick dry glue. Once I had the house 'built' like I wanted, I set to work putting the finishing touches on it.  

I love the phrase “there is no place like home” and wanted it on the front of this piece so I used the High Five Alphabets to complete this project. I love that pieces like this are super easy to add to your Fall décor anywhere in your home.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all of the Bella designer tapes and am always looking to use them in alternate ways. I folded pieces back and forth to create some shingles on the roof as well as created grass at the bottom for my house and turkey to sit in! 

....and now for the wreath !!!!!

I ended up cutting more than (200) 3" strips of patterned paper AND designer tape, snipped both ends of each one into a flag shape and got to work with my favorite quick dry glue. This is a great way to use up tiny scraps leftover from layouts or cards.

I am not going to lie and tell you this was quick. But, it was relatively easy once I got going and I'm super happy with the end result. I wrapped the largest circle first, then next and so on until all the wire had been covered. 

Then I chose a couple of brown papers and created a banner for some words and embellishments. I adhered a wooden skewer to the back of the banner to keep it from folding in and secured it to the inside edges of the wreath with a strong quick dry liquid glue.

This is perfect for your front door or mantle and could be changed to fit any holiday decor just by changing the Bella Blvd collection.

Rainy Monday...and more cards

Happy Monday.....it's a very rainy November day here so it is PERFECT for catching up on some projects in my office !!

......I love to cut up stickers and journal cards to make them work for any project i'm working on.....

The border along the bottom of this card was made by using cardstock word stickers......

.......and cardstock alphas were used to create this sentiment !!!

It is Christmas is full swing around here with cards and holiday projects everywhere !!  The tree goes up this week too :))

Christmas Cards w/ Jillibean Soup

I've just gotten home from a FABULOUS weekend on the mainland where I taught (5) workshops to happy happy scrapbookers and cardmakers......it was soooooo fun and everyone was soooooo welcoming !!  I can't wait to head back in the new year - thanks again for having me :))

In the middle of all this I found some time to create another (8) Card Workshop featuring

(LOVE LOVE LOVE this collection)

I mixed patterned paper with journal cards, alphas and stickers too !!

.......got a bit of my fave American Crafts Premium Ribbon in there too !!!!

Oh, and of course Hemptique Twine (another fave....)

.......and how cute is this one for your love at Christmas !!!  I am addicted to the cardstock stickers and had to use lots on this fun journal card :)))

holy smokes.....

Has it really been almost a week since I've been in touch ?!  I promise it has NOT been that long since I've played with pretty paper :))

I've actually been in my room every day all day these past few days (lucky me :)) and I've got LOTS of projects to share SOOON....

..... a Jillibean Soup layout

You should see my office - projects EVERYWHERE !!!

I may possibly take  few pics and share it with you this weekend - we'll see .....

But until then, here is a holiday layout using the fabulous "Winter Tortellini and Spinach Soup" collection from Jillibean Soup.

I love everything about this collection.....the papers, the die-cuts, the stickers.....all of it.....

I decided to make my layout into a 'gift' and created this fun ribbon and bow using twine and patterned paper :))

I am a bit fan of not using pieces as they are intended so I cut 'NOEL' from a journal card, ran a photo and calendar card off the edge of the base and cut 'this season, the best gift......' sticker out of a larger sticker and kept the piece i wanted !!!

I had to get a little bit of journaling included too as Samson REALLY REALLY didn't want to wear his Santa hat.....but he did it for Emma ....xoxo

I'm trying SUPER hard to get all my holiday photos from LAST year into albums BEFORE I starting taking more this year.....wish me luck ;)))
