'back to school' Layout

I know that we are soooooo far away from 'back to school' but I scrapped these first day photos of Alex and never ended up sharing it on my blog - so here you go ;))

I used all Imaginisce product and LOVE how it came together.  Alex's uniform is green and burgundy and the colors in this collection could not have been more perfect .....

The pre-made die cut shapes are so fun and I even wound some more twine through the' binding' of the book page - cute right !!

I precision cut the little paper clip die cut to 'work' like a paperclip at the top of this pic .....

A bunch of 3D foam and some journaling about his first day at Queen Margaret's School and this one is ready for his album !!!

Come on back for more inspiration throughout March as I am excited to be Guesting with Imaginisce for the month ...... can't wait :)))

.... a CHA layout for Core'dinations

I've got a few projects to share with you that I designed for the Core'dinations CHA booth ..... Today I am going to start with a horsey layout (of course ;)

i absolutely LOVE Kraft Core cardstock and this was the feature on this layout.  I used a fun embossing folder by Darice and lightly sanded off the top to show the kraft color pattern.

I wanted the grid to really pop so I added twine to really separate the pieces of cardstock. I cut my words using the Silhouette and typed my journaling onto solid kraft cardstock !!

For the hearts I embossed a larger piece of cardstock FIRST then lightly sanded each piece THEN punched them out into the heart shapes ...... this is much easier than trying to sand those little pieces :))

A little horsey love .....

Though I still used lots of hearts, I took a break from the pink and red and created a different kind of love layout using nothing but fab pieces of Core'dinations Color Core Cardstock !!!

I have endless pics of Em and her horses but her and Ginger are my fave to work with right now.  It's not a secret that I am completely obsessed with this gorgeous mare !!

I started with a pre-embossed creme base and lightly sanded off the top.  I used several embossing folders on the other pieces.  I used a tiny polka dot folder for the blue and clocks for the brown (love this one :)) ......

I punched 2 different sizes of hearts from (5) different colors of Core and then embossed and sanded each one.  When I layered them onto my layout I adhered the bottom flat and then tucked a piece of 3D foam under the top to raise pit up a little for more dimension.

I ran a piece of Kraft Core cardstock through my Silhouette to cut the title 'enjoy every moment' .... I say things like this all the time at home - live every day ect ... so this title was great for this layout of these everyday pics of my 2 fave girls :))

I used my typewriter on a piece of creme cardstock for my journaling and then cut it up into a few pieces and rounded the inside edges .... adhered flat and this one is ready for Em's album !!!

Supplies:

  • Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection: tumbled glass, black soot, peeled paint, shabby shutters, scattered straw, faded jeans, broken china
  • Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Noastalgic Collection: No.13
  • Core Essentials: french roast, vanilla creme
  • Sand It Gadget
  • Dust Buddy
  • Misc: embossing folders, heart punches, adhesive

A Treat Bag & A Box

Happy Valentine's Day !!!!

It was a BUSY morning here .... crepes for breakfast, Valentine's treats to open and red clothes to get on before out the door for the day :))  .... i LOVE how much my kids LOVE every single 'holiday' ......

These fun projects were up on the Core'dinations blog yesterday ......

Like most girls, I like a little sparkle in my life and the Core’dinations Core Couture Glitter cardstock is PERFECT as it has just the right amount of shimmer and it DOESNT RUB OFF !!     For my Treat bag I used this fun glitter cardstock and for the little box I used my fave spotted jillian dot (love this cardstock ) ......

Both of these are Silhouette cut files.  Core’dinations cardstock works like a dream with this digital cutting system.  Quick and easy cuts that were ready to fold into shape and get embellished !!

I gently sanded the dotted cardstock BEFORE i ran it through the Silhouette.  This makes it easier so that you don’t tear the smaller notches and tabs that come with a box like this.   I used the negative heart shapes from the larger glitter bag to help embellish the white cardstock tag and then added a sentiment sticker to finish it off.

I just love this little bag …. so perfect for chocolate treats, cookies or gift cards too !!  I added another Core’dinations tag that I embellished with a scalloped shape punch using red Core Essentials cardstock and added a heart shaped sticker and tied it on using white sheer ribbon ….. such a fun bag for any occasion !!!

I hope you have the best day full of lots 'n lots of LOVE .....

Supplies:
  • Core Couture Glitter Cardstock - Stiletto
  • Spotted Jillian Dot Cardstock - Roasted Pepper
  • Canvas Textures Tags - White Medium
  • Core Essentials - Poinsettia
  • David Tutera Celebrate - Step 3 Sentiment Stickers
  • Sand It Gadget & Dust Buddy
  • American Crafts white sheer ribbon

(2) More DT123 Cards

Hey everyone ..... I've got a couple more cards for you today using the David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system and they're both ready in time for Valentine's Day !!

..... i LOVE these Step 2 overlays :)) They are such an easy way to add so much dimension and creativity to your card ....

I started with a kraft A2 card base and adhered this pre-embossed layer with a circle that was the perfect place to add this sweet Step 3 chip shape for my 'love' sentiment !!

I adhered a few Step 3 tiny flowers using 3D foam and added an adhesive backed pearl to the center of each to finish it off - 'love' it !!!

For my 2nd card I started with a burgundy A2 card base and ran it through my eBosser using a large embossing folder to add a little dimension.

I added a couple of die cut butterflies and a chip shape sentiment to finish off this simple yet sweet card that can be used for almost any occasion :))

i love you ..... another 'lovey' card

Hey there !!  Today I've got a super cute little card to share ..... I often love the sweet size of an A1 card as it's just a touch smaller than the A2 but still gives you a great space to create on the front of your card.

Because the David Tutera collection is created using Core'dinations cardstock, I ran my card base through my eBosser with a large embossing folder so I could sand off the top layer and show the dimension of the dot pattern.....

I took (3) white cardstock tags and adhered them at different heights at the bottom of the card and then gently trimmed off the excess.  I wanted them to stand out a little more so I added some faux stitching along the edges using my black journal pen.

The Step 3 embellishment pkgs have some super cute pieces in them so it was easy to add a couple of cute little hearts to these tags and a chip sentiment too !!

Supplies:

  • David Tutera Celebrate Step 1 – A1 Pastel Asst. Canvas Cards & White Envelopes (DT-GX-7100-21)
  • David Tutera Celebrate Step 2 - Assorted Tags Neutral (DT-GX-7300-34)
  • David Tutera Celebrate Step 3 – Heart Shapes (DT-GX-7300-20)
  • David Tutera Celebrate Step 3 - ‘I love you’ chip shape
  • Double sided adhesive and 3D foam
  • Black journaling pen

i heart you ....

With Valentine's Day almost here I have been using LOTS of red and pink and white and kraft Core'dinations cardstock !!!

I started with an A7 (5 x 7") kraft cardstock card base and added a piece of Bronzed Glitter Silk cardstock and adhered it towards the right edge.

I love love love my embossing folders and have been waiting to use these heart themed ones for Valentine's Day !!  I used a piece of Barn Door from the Tim Holtz and Ranger Distress Collection and ran it through my embossing machine and lightly sanded of the top to really have the pattern stand out ......

For the large heart I used a piece of Antique Vanity from the Whitewash Collection and put it through my eBosser.  I sanded off the top to show the pink color and then used my precision scissors to cut around the detailed edge of the heart.  I raised it using 3D foam off to the right edge of the base and added a smaller red heart on top as well !!

I wanted to add a bit of ribbon to this card and chose this shear white American Crafts which worked perfectly with the whitewash cardstock ..... some alpha stickers to create a sentiment and this card is ready to give on the big day :))

Supplies:
  • A7 Kraft cardstock card base from the David Tutera Celebrate collection
  • Glitter Silk Cardstock - bronzed
  • Whitewash Cardstock - Antique Vanity
  • Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection - Barn Door
  • Sand It Gadget & Dust Buddy
  • American Crafts ribbon, misc. alphas
