'just like dad' Layout

This layout was up over on the Bella Blvd. blog the other day !!

Like most little boys, Alex LOVES to do anything that his Daddy does including helping me. The colors in the Lucky Starz collection work so well with these cute pics of Alex changing out the license plate from the truck to the camper - too cute.

I love that while the stars are tone on tone, the pattern still pops off the page and the back sides are fabulous too - seriously LOVE them. One of the many things I enjoy about the Bella product is that several of the shapes are carried through in each collection.

For this layout I was able to take star stickers from the Treasures & Text Cardstock Sticker sheets from (3) different collections and use them on the same layout. This really makes embellishing easy and fun !!

Up over on Imaginisce

I'm up over on the Imaginisce Blog today for my last post as their March guest Designer !!  I've LOVED working with their 'Welcome Spring' collection and had so much fun  - thanks again Imaginisce !!

'Fly' Layout
I have so many great photos of Emma jumping her horses and am always looking for ways to showcase them on a layout using different collections other than something horsey !!  Emma often says that when she is going over the jumps it feels like she is flying so this stamping challenge was PERFECT .....

I started with a full 12 x 12" piece of polka dot patterned paper (love this one) and layered a few more patterns to create a fun base for my picture.

I love the clear butterfly stamp that comes with this collection and used coordinating embossing powders to create (15) shapes that I precision cut to embellish around my photo.  I used American Crafts Thickers for my title and added a journal card and a few sparkly gems too ..... just because :))

All Occasion Card
I am sure I am just like many of you when I remember literally as I am running out the door that I need a card for where I am going .... a birthday, thank you or just because.  I like to create cards like this that are sweet and perfect for any occasion so I can grab them on the go !!

For this card I started with a solid white A2 card base and added a piece of pink diagonal stripe a 1/4 of an inch smaller to show a bit of white around the edge.  For the stamping on this card I used (2) different stamps and colors of ink and create my own 'patterned paper' on white cardstock as a base for the die cuts and ribbon.

I raised this piece with Dimensional Dots, wrapped ribbon around it and added a couple of die cut shapes.  It is ready to go for that last minute card I need .... probably soon :))

A Bit of Bella .....

This is up over on the Bella Blvd. Blog today .....

Alex is going to be 9 this June and I can’t seem to figure out where the time has gone. That and I keeping realizing just how many pics I still have to get into this kids album.

These were taken of Alex when he was 2 years old. His curls – seriously. He’d still have them but he kept getting called a cute little girl so they were cut when he turned 3. I still miss them. BUT..... His goofy, silly and fun personality has stayed right where it belongs and he still makes me laugh every day!

The words and phrases throughout this collection seem to have been made for my boy. Yes, what a guy is right. LOVE all the little bits. This layout came together easily and is ready to put in his book – finally.

More layouts to come this week so come on back for lots of Bella Blvd. inspiration !!!

A Layout and a Card w/ Imaginsce

I'm up over on the Imaginisce Blog again today with a couple of spring projects and I thought I would share them here too !!

ButterCup Pup Layout

I took this pic of our mini dachshund last spring when he was just 7 months old and it has been sitting in my studio waiting to be worked with ..... as soon as I saw the Welcome Spring collection by Imaginisce i knew they were a perfect match !!

I loved the soft subtle pattern on the back of the Hop To It paper - perfect for a base.  I layered the next several pieces making sure you could still see a bit of each.  They all work so well together and still let me show off this adorable puppy :)).  I raised the 5 x 7" photo using Dimensional Dots so that it really jumped off my layout.

I ran the welcome spring journal card through my typewriter and added these fabulous yellow glitter Thickers for my title to finish it off.  I think this one will live in a frame for a while before hitting my album :))

....... and then I went to work on this fun card !!!

Tri-Fold Card

It's fun to create cards every once in a while that step outisde the size box a bit.  This is a quick and easy card that gives you room to add a photo, a gift card or simply write a nice message inside.

I started with a kraft cardstock base.  The size is 5 1/2 x 12" and I scored it at 3 1/2" and 7" .....I adhered the patterned paper that I wanted on the front and insides and then punched a scalloped circle out of the front.  I added a Sticker Stacker on the inside so that it peeked through the punched shape - cute right !!

A die cut raised with Dimensional Dots and some pretty pink ribbon and this sweet card is ready to give to a special someone :))

I have had so much fun working with the Welcome spring collection by Imaginisce and will be back on the blog again next week with some stamping projects !!

St. Patty's Day Layout

Morning !! I am certain many of you got lots of fun green pics yesterday so today I am sharing a layout a created recently with Jillibean Soup .....

I started with a piece of woodgrain patterned paper for my base and then started cutting clovers like crazy using my Silhouette ......

I used every piece of green patterned paper I had from all my Jillibean collections and created a fun border at the bottom of my layout !!

Once I had them all adhered, I stitched a fun vine pattern overtop of them with my sewing machine (and yes, I wish I was that handy using fabric too ;))

I love how this came together and think I may keep this one up in my studio for a bit before adding it to an album .....

'So lucky' St. Patricks Day Card

Happy St. Patricks Day !!!!

Last week I got out all my fave green Core'dinations cardstock and started making 4 leaf clovers :))

It's no secret that I love my Silhouette and when I saw this super cute little swirly clover I knew it had to end up on this 'so lucky' card.

I started with a David Tutera Celebrate A2 white card base and ran it through my eBosser using my fave dotted embossing folder.

Then I took a piece of The Chocolate Box cardstock with the green back and flipped it over and embossed it the same to create a mat.

I cut the clover cut file using both sides of the same piece of cardstock so that I could use 3D foam and layer the clovers !!  Between the layering and the flourish I am in LOVE with this clover :))

I added  Step 3 chip shape from the DT123 embellishment packs for my sentiment and some fab polka dot ribbon with a big ol' bow to complete !!

Make sure to take some fun St. Patricks Day pics today and then come on back tomorrow to see what I did with last year's pics and some fabulous Jillibean Soup !!!

Lucky Me Layout

I found this lucky clover placemat cut file at the Silhouette Online Store and thought it would super fun on a 12 x 12" layout.

I started with one of my fave Core'dinations Cardstock bases - Spotted Jillian Dot in white and then adhered this clover 'placemat' that I cut using spring green from the Graphic 45 Lights collection .....

I cut up a 4 x 6" Bella Blvd. journalling card and added my photos to create a line across the middle of the layout ....

I added my journalling and some faux stitching around the edge of the placemat as well as onto the chip alphas for my title.

This is a simple layout but I love how it all came together with this great Core'dinations cardstock !!

I'm Guesting with Imaginisce

I was so excited to have been asked to be the March Guest Designer for Imaginisce and today I am up their blog with some fun St. Patrick's Day projects featuring their new collection 'Welcome Spring' ....

St. Patricks Day Layout
I was so excited when I got the 'Welcome Spring' collection in the mail to work with this month .... it is seriously cute !!  For this layout, I started with a base of white AC cardstock and started cutting up the patterns.  The bold green stripe (back side of Dainty Floral) is perfect for these fun pics of my kids on St. Patty's day a couple of years ago.  i LOVE the arrows of  the Flying Colors paper and being that I have a pic of my boy AND girl it is fun to have some girly colors on this layout too !!

I had some fun with my Silhouette and the remaining piece of green stripes ... I cut (6) clovers out and then raised them with This to That Dimensional Dots (i call them 3D foam ;)) .... I made sure to adhere them in line with the strips so they were all matchy matchy !!

I used a couple of journal cards to create a bit of a base for my embellishments too.  I punched a few hearts and created a little clover flower and added a die cut birdie and part of a sticker stacker.  I love these raised stickers but I didn't want the bunny on this circle so i gently peeled it off.  It worked great tucked in behind the mini flag I created using a corsage pin and a 'flag' from the Spring Journaling paper !!

I added some buttons with twine, green gems from the Spring Bling embellishment pack and finished it off with a title using these fun American Crafts Thickers !!!

Supplies:
  • Imaginisce; Welcome Spring patterned papers (Dainty Floral, Flying Colors, Pinwheels and Banners, Spring Journaling) Welcome Spring embellishments (Die Cuts Tags Pad, Die Cuts Sunshine, Bling Sheet, Plastic Buttons, Sticker Stacker)
  • American Crafts: white cardstock, This to That Dimensional Dots, Thickers (Elf)

Best of Luck Card
I thought i'd create a fun 'good luck' card with a bit of a St. Patty's Day theme :) ..... I started with an AC white cardstock base and ran it through my eBosser using the same pinwheel folder as the patterned paper (love this one) ..... I added a couple of narrow yellow and white striped strips as well as part of a journal card from the Tags Pad.

I will often cut pieces off of journal cards that I don't need or that don't work with my project and use them alternately, like here I didn't want the portion of the card that had the flower pots on it :) ...... I got out a piece of my American Crafts Corrugated Glitter cardstock (love) and punched a few hearts to create a clover.  I snipped a 'branch' off of one of 'Sunshine' die cuts for the stem (worked perfectly) and then raised it with 3D foam adding a button with twine to the center !!  I used AC Thickers for my title and this one is ready to put in the envelope :)

Supplies:
  • Imaginisce; Welcome Spring patterned papers (Pinwheels and Banners, Flying Colors)
  • Imaginisce; Welcome Spring embellishments (Die Cuts Tags Pad, Plastic Buttons, Sunshine Die Cuts)
  • American Crafts; white cardstock, Corrugated Glitter Cardstock (Emerald), This to That Dimensional Dots, Thickers (Sunrise)

On our way home .....

Hey Everyone !!  Happy Monday ..... Sorry it's been a little while since I've posted but I've been traveling with my daughter in California for the past 8 days so I haven't been blogging but we are heading home today .... so I am back at it :))

Today I have a few pics to share from our trip and then TOMORROW I have a fun post of projects with a St. Patricks Day theme so come on back .....

We flew into Palm Springs (first time) at night so we were so excited to see what there was to see in the am !!  Of course palm trees EVERYWHERE and SUNSHINE too ..... considering we left snow this was pretty exciting for us :))

We stayed in Indio for the horse show but travelled around to find out where we'd like to stay when we come back for this show next year .... La Quinta is the choice - SOOOOO cute !!

Wonderful spanish style buildings and these flowers were EVERYWHERE down here - so pretty !!

Of course there was a TON of riding !!  Emma was lucky to be able to ride this super sweet mare while we were there.  It was the first time that Em had ridden and shown a baby (young horse) before and she  was AMAZING !!  Handled her like a champ and had the mare loving the hunter ring by the end of the week ..... such a fabulous experience for my girl and I was so so proud of her :))

We LOVED the heat, sunshine and horses BUT ... we (well mostly me) can not wait to get home to see my boy.  I've never been away from Alex for so long and I have missed him like crazy !!  Em - she just can't wait to get home to her horses ;))

Make sure to check in tomorrow as I've got a great post for an exciting Guest Designer spot with Imaginisce !!!
