An Easter Card

I had so much fun creating this sweet Easter bunny card featuring David Tutera Celebrate and Core'dinations !!!

I started with an A7 card base (5 x 7) and added the green embossed postcard layer on top.  I lightly sanded it before I adhered it to show the embossed border ....

The next piece I added was an A2 (4 x 6) white glitter layer flat.  Then I trimmed an embossed pink layer a little shorter so I could add the bow  underneath.  I lightly sanded this one too to show the embossed image of the core'dinations cardstock .....

Next I trimmed a white lattice layer to sit under the bunny and adhere it flat as well.
I stamped the bunny onto pink and white pearlescent cardstock and precision cut it out .....

I glued the inside of the bunny ears and the pads of his feet onto the pink image and raised it using 3D foam .... I even added some Zazz (white glitter glue by American Crafts - coming soon HERE) to his little nose and tail .....

Then I precision cut out a few eggs from patterned paper by Bella Blvd. I kept a few flat and raised a few .... A sticker sentiment by David Tutera Celebrate and it was ready for the ribbon !!!

I hope this inspires you to get out your Core'dinations and create a fun Easter card or 2 yourself !!!

Easter Inspiration Day 2

I'm back today with (2) more projects that I created for Bella Blvd. using their super cute 'Spring Flings and Easter Things' collection ....

My kids love decorating eggs and they get excited to put them out for the Easter bunny each year but the 'cups' that come with the coloring kits just aren't cute enough for me. So I like to make my own. This year I got out all my bits from Spring Flings and Easter Things and started cutting.

I created the bases from border strips and pieces of patterned paper. I used a few border punches on some and sanded all the edges. I secured them using Scor Tape as they will take some weight once the eggs are sitting on them.

I used Cute Cuts, stickers and shapes that I precision cut from the papers to embellish and I even got a pink feather in there too. I can't wait to set these out for the eggs.

These carrots were a fun little afterthought as I was creating my Easter projects this year. I cut different lengths of the orange polka dot paper (popsicle kisses) and then rolled them into cone shapes.

I adhered the ends using a super strong quick dry glue and then got out my designer tape. I cut the green patterned paper (petal power) into wide strips and then cut long strips almost to the edge to create the tops for my carrots. I adhere these pieces inside the top of each carrot 'cone' and curled the ends over my stylus.

I wanted to add a bit of dimension to the 'carrot' so I adhered the orange designer tape from the Polka Dot Combo pack to a piece of cardstock and then punched mini circles out and adhered them lightly onto the outside so they appear to be bumps on the carrots.I filled them each with candy and they were ready to add to our Easter Décor!

Come on back tomorrow as I've got a great Easter card featuring the David Tutera Celebrate card system and some great Core'dinations cardstock too !!!

Easter Inspiration Day 1 ......

I'm over on the Bella Blvd. blog today to give you some Easter inspiration .....

I wanted to create a cute little Easter basket to put out with our decorations this year and Spring Flings and Easter Things is my all time fave Easter collection !!  I took a smaller 4 x 4" cardboard box and cut the top and side flaps off and then covered the sides with patterned paper.

I ribbon folded more designer tape around the top edge of the basket and then precision cut little eggs to decoate the base of the basket …… I added more cute cuts to the front with some stickers, chip shapes and twine too !!

I put some krinkle cut paper in the bottom and tucked a green feather inside the front edge and then it was ready to add the eggs and chocolate !!!  I love how this came together ……

I cut a strip of cardstock and covered it in designer tape and then border punched it to create the handle (LOVE) ….. I added a corchet heart with a button to the top to finish it off !!

Come on back tomorrow for (2) more super cute Easter projects featuring Bella Blvd. and you can BUY YOUR "Spring Flings and Easter Things" HERE now ....

Hmmm....why do I scrapbook?? Well, I would ask "Why doesn't everyone scrapbook?" It is an incredible hobby and I love that it is something I share with friends and many members of my family. For this reason too, I am a big believer in journaling.

Thanks so much for the chance to win!! :)

Thanks so much to everyone for sharing with me why you paper craft .... i LOVED reading everyone's stories :))

Now for some more inspiration !!  As I mentioned the other day, I am in desperate need of some SUNSHINE .... So I sat down with the fabulous 'Sand & Surf' collection by Bella Blvd. and put together a layout using a fave pic of my kids in the Spring a couple years back .....

I love the large brown chevron print on the base paper and the green said spring to me .... The palm tree strip went perfectly with Alex's cute little shirt and of course my fave parts of every Bella collection are all the great embellishments ....

I added chip shapes, stickers, alphas, crochet hearts and a flag too !!

This completely got me in the mood to scrapbook more spring and summer photos ..... back to 'work' :))

My Core'dinations Creative Frenzy

As promised today I have several Core'dinations projects to share with you.  I've been digging thru my core cardstock and pulling out some of my faves ......

As you all know by now, i LOVE LOVE LOVE to sand ...... so Core'dinations cardstock is an obvious choice for me to love to create with !!  I can take the amazing pre-embossed sheets like the Jillian Dot Spotted base above and sand the top layer off to show to lighter color inner core.

For the embellishments I chose some Spotted, Gemstones and Core Couture Glitter and pulled out my punches.  For the center of the white flowers I used a piece of  yellow Gemstones and ran it thru my big shot using a spotted embossing folder and then punched out the little circles and raised them using 3d foam ...... The shimmer and shine of using the Gemstones and Glitter cardstock worked perfectly together on this layout !!

I've been working thru some of Emma's baby photos and came up with these super cute ones of her in her crib at about 6 months old.  She was ALWAYS smiling ..... I wanted to combine some of my fave Core cardstock colors with some Bella Blvd. Baby Girl.  Core'dinations works so well with ANY patterned paper and this was no exception.

I chose (5) different pieces and got to work.  The 12 x 12" base of the layout is Tillie Dot and comes pre-embossed.  I lightly sanded off the top to show the dimension of the cardstock and then added some patterned paper on top.

The other (4) pieces got a run thru my Big Shot with different embossing folders......floral on the pink, swirls on the white gemstone, checkered print on the mauve and dots on the Tim Holtz Distress Collection !!!  It doesn't matter what patterned paper collection you are using, you will always find some Core'dinations to coordinate !!

Creating cards can be quick and easy using the endless color choices from Core.  For this fun card I used some Jillian Dot for the first layer on top of a David Tutera Celebrate card base.  I used my new fave Darice chevron embossing folder to show this fun pattern on the grey/blue cardstock.  I cut the ends off of (2) creme pearlescent DTC tags and ran them thru my Big Shot using an embossing folder too......a few flowers and leaves punched out and a splash of patterned paper from Lilybee Designs, a DTC sticker sentiment and this card is good to go !!!!

This was such a fun card to create.  I picked (3) pieces of Core cardstock and (3) embossing folders and started sanding ..... this all worked so well together with this great little bee by Bella Blvd.  I feel like the opportunities to create beautiful, different and super creative projects using Core'dinations cardstock is absolutely endless !!!

I've got a GIVE-AWAY for you tomorrow (Friday) and you'll have all weekend to enter so come on back !!!

NEW Layout ....

Today I've got a new layout featuring more of the brand new 'All American' collection by Bella Blvd.

As soon as we got to Montana for a family wedding last summer Alex found this Captain America hat and HAD to have it. He wore it every constantly and thought it was so cool to be in the US on Canada Day.

Though you can't see it in this photo, he is wearing his Canada Day T-shirt with this hat on July 1st.

We were leaving to come home before July 4th so I had to get some pics of him before we left and he was happy to pose in his new favorite hat.

This collection was of course perfect and I had so much fun adding all the pieces together to showcase this super cute pic of my boy in red, white and blue.

Head over to the Bella Blvd. Blog for some more great projects by the design team !!!

.....and come on back tomorrow as I've been creating up a storm using all that AMAZING new Core'dinations that I showed you a few weeks back ..... LAYOUTS and CARDS !!!

'All American' Inspiration

I'm so excited to get to finally share these super fun red, white and blue projects with you featuring the BRAND NEW 'All American collection by Bella Blvd.

I was SO excited when I got this collection to work with, and I'm Canadian. My family spends a lot of time in the US and I couldn't wait to create some fun projects for a friend across the border to help her family decorate for this special holiday.

I've never made a banner before but loved making this one. I chose a couple of my favorite patterned papers to create the flags for the main part of the banner. I added another pattern to the center and adhered it using 2 different Designer Tapes and then went about adding pieces to embellish around the chipboard alpha words.

I chose to add a white doily under the words and love what it added to each piece. I created a few florettes using one of the new Freestyle Sophisticates and had fun adding to each of them with stickers, flags and buttons too.

Can't wait to get this in the mail ….. It's coming to you Allyson !!!

I wanted a couple more pieces to put on the mantle with the banner and I love all kinds of frames so I made this one into an American flag. I made sure I had the proper number of red strips and then added a couple of white stars to the blue section. Super simple, but I love what it stands for and think it's a perfect addition to any 4th of July décor.

I use these little clear buckets for so many occasions and thought this would be a fun party favor for a 4th of July celebration. I used a sticker border and some Cute Cuts to decorate the bucket and then added paper and stickers to the lid too. A few pieces of designer tape and it was ready to fill with popcorn and red, white and blue jellybeans.

Make sure to head over to the Bella Blog for more inspiration ALL WEEK !!! ...... and back here tomorrow for a new LAYOUT too ......
